Companies Using Social Media

KODAK IS WORLDWIDE AND IMPROVED BECAUSE SOCIAL MEDIA MAKES EVERYTHING BETTER AND EASIER

Social media is one of the best and most important marketing tools for companies and businesses these days. Nowadays, everyone is on their Iphone's and constantly checking social media like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat to see what is going on and what everyone is up too. While people are constantly checking their social media, advertisements and posts from different companies are also constantly popping up and because of that people are noticing it more and actually clicking on it and reading what pops up on their screen and becoming interested on what is being advertised.

Madlen Nicolaus is a representative and manager of Kodak’s social media activities. At the company Kodak, they focused on using social media to increase their product awareness and they wanted to have a direct dialogue with their customers. The company wants to be able to easily communicate with people from all parts of the world so they have created an additional social media channel so it allows them to do that. Madlen Nicolaus states that the company wants to “help people easily discover, recommend, select, purchase, and use our products and services, wherever they are in the world”.

The B2B process refers to the series of events or steps that occurs when one business sells a product to another business. The company has noticed that the B2B buying process has changed. It is stated that “today buyers are moving into the sales funnel much later than ever before”. People are spending more time on the web doing research, connecting with their peers and third party influencers via social media. People are also relying on content that they find on social media channels to educate themselves about that specific product or service that they are trying to learn more about.

A “K-Zone” was set up at a European trade show. The K-Zone is “a show within a show where a series of sessions with unscripted panels happen on the latest trends in the graphic arts and about how to optimize your business”. The K-Zone sessions were broadcasted live over the internet and videos were posted online. A “blogging zone” was also created by Jennifer Cisney who was a Kodak Chief Blogger, and Madlen Nicolaus, and they shared all activities at the Kodak booth and also put information out from the K-Zone via Twitter, Facebook, and youtube. People around the world were able to participate because of how much it was put out on social media.
